you are writing for the fish again...

"Shhh..it's just a break..I have to do research for the next part of yours."

...........

"Oh you big baby....I'm going to work on the next part of your story after I take a nap. So just go pout and be there when I need you."

Very well......

Okay now that RC has shut up..heh..here's some more goldfish crack!

Come my friends as we visit with elfcat’s goldfish…when last we left our intrepid trio Terline and Vala had just discovered something odd about Minnie…let us see how that played out…

For once Terline was enjoying a nice leisurely swim around the bottom of the tank; Minnie and Vala where playing a game of hide and seek it seemed. Well that was what it looked like as the two fish took turns popping in and out of the hidey-holes in their rock. Terline was nearing the rock when she suddenly was trapped on both sides by the other fish.

“Terline! Quick hide! Monster!” Minnie yelled out as she and Vala pushed Terline into the largest hole in the rock.

Terline quickly rid herself of the two panicked fish and swam out of the hole, “What is wrong with the two of you?” she asked floating in front of them.

Minnie stuck her head out just barely, “Monster! Hide!” she yelled again.

Terline turned around to face the glass, laughing at the two she commented, “That’s not a monster…that’s a cat.”

She swam down to face the two scaredy fishes, “You can come out; it can’t hurt you. In fact it can’t even try to reach you if it wanted to, there’s a reason we have a top on the tank you know,” she told the two as they slowly swam out of the hole.

Minnie swam all the way out of the hole and floated beside Terline, they were soon joined by Vala. “What’s a cat?” the small black fish asked.

“Yeah…what’s a cat?” echoed Minnie as she watched the large creature laying next to their home.

“It’s another one of the human’s pets; there are several of them in fact. Along with the dogs, our human has quite a little menagerie,” Terline told them.

“A dog? Is that what that was licking the glass the other day? asked Vala.

“Yes…it was…although I have no clue as to why it was doing that,” replied Terline.

“What? When did this happen and where was I?” Minnie asked swimming in circles around the two.

“I was giving Vala a reading lesson and you were rooting around in the rocks behind the big rock, looking for ‘leftovers’,” Terline told the other fish.

“Humph…oh well…so this cat thing can’t hurt us huh?” Minnie asked as she swam a little bit closer to the glass.

“No…it can’t,” Terline assured her.

“Cool!” yelled Minnie as she began to swim back and forth in front of the cat.

Terline just flopped her fins at the antics of her tank mate and swam away to finish her exercise. Vala watched Minnie tease the cat for a few moments then swam after Terline.

Catching up to the larger fish she asked, “Have you noticed anything odd about Minnie lately?”

“No…other than the changing colors thing, not really. Why?” remarked Terline as she came to a stop in her corner of the tank.

“Well…sometimes she doesn’t want to play. She just floats quietly in the far corner behind the rock and no matter how hard I try, I can’t get her to come out,” Vala said with a sigh.

“Ahhh…well according to what the human said the other day Minnie’s change in color is a sign of her growing older; so maybe she’s just maturing,” Terline told the smaller fish.

“Or maybe not.” muttered Terline as they watched Minnie rub against the glass and dart off only to come back again to the cat causing it to tap the glass.

“I’m sure she’s just fine; she played with you today didn’t she,” commented Terline.

“Yeah she did, I guess she was just tired or something,” the little fish said. “Thanks Terline; I’m gonna go play tease the cat with Minnie…see ya!”

Terline sighed as she watched the two dart back and forth driving the cat crazy. At least they had something else to occupy themselves with now; maybe she could get some peace and quiet for a little while. Turning to face the glass, she began reading from the book the human had so thoughtfully left opened for her.
