Summary: waiting is so hard to do
She exited the Stargate into a room full of armed troops, all of whom had weapons targeted on her form. Stopping at the bottom of the ramp she waited for Teal’c, turning to face the gate as he walked through.
“I see you spared no expense with my welcoming committee,” she commented to him.
“It was a necessary precaution,” he remarked as he motioned for her to continue walking.
With a nod of her head, the double stepped from the ramp and followed two SFs through the corridor formed by the parting of the other troops. They led her to a small room not far from the gate room; it contained only a table and two chairs. The two SFs took up guard positions outside the door as Teal’c entered the room, his weapon trained on her every movement as she paced along the far wall.
“Where is Samantha Carter?” she asked the Jaffa.
“Colonel Carter will arrive soon, you are to wait here and make no attempt to leave,” he replied, brandishing the weapon to remind her of the consequences of such an attempt.
“Very well…I shall do as asked,” the double commented as she pulled a chair away from the table and sat down, closing her eyes to wait on her counterpart.
Waiting for Carter to arrive allowed for a re-thinking of her original plan. Since she was brought to the alpha site, gaining access to the doctor would be difficult if not impossible. She must devise a valid reason for transfer to the SGC and make Carter see that it was the only way to accomplish a goal. Perhaps she would offer to help with the destruction of her brethren or some similar plan.
During the time, she was devising a new plan she allowed the memories from Carter surface once more. Memories of the doctor and her counterpart working together to solve many a problem, images of them relying on one another to help free the base from the influence of Hathor and yet more images of many night times spent together. These memories varied, some were of times spent in comfortable silence, each woman focused on separate tasks but knowing the other was close by; others were moments of family time shared with Janet and the young girl, whom she now knew was named Cassie, these memories were filled with feelings of love and much laughter.
Then there were the moments when they were alone, behind closed doors, the images now seemed to blur together into a slow dance of movements. Bodies entwined together, hands touching and stroking, lips grazing heated flesh and soft cries of passion filled her mind.
Her eyes snapped open and she rose so quickly from the table that the chair clattered to the floor. Teal’c snapped his weapon up, focusing it on her as she began to pace along the far wall.
“When will Carter arrive?” she snapped at him, as she wrung her hands together, pacing to and fro, “I must speak with her, my brethren will soon locate me; time is of the essence.”
