Summary: What did it really feel like to wake up in that wall?
Her mind drifted in a fog, echoes of memories and sensations swirled in and out of her grasp. The flashes seemed to string all together, no starting or stopping point just a steady stream of images. She saw faces, three men in particular; did she know them?
More flashes…she was firing a weapon in some; in others, it seemed she was studying strange machinery. Another image appeared in her mind, this one of a smiling woman, with soft brown eyes that shown with an inner light. More images of the woman came to front, she was laughing, then crying and then seemingly in the throes of passion. These images provoked a response in her the most it seemed.
Slowly she awoke, becoming aware of different sensations. First was the metallic scent which hung heavy in the air, next a sensation of wet stickiness that was amplified by the cool air blowing around her, lastly she began to hear the faint click clack of many feet walking around her.
Prying her eyes open, she slowly tried to focus on her surroundings; things were very much a blur. Her mind was still throwing flashes of memory out at random, one of the last images she received was of the auburn haired woman, bending over her, and the face of the woman was full of concern and compassion.
Sensing movement nearby, she willed her eyes to focus; a figure was approaching. The blurry figure grew closer and as it did a name manifested itself…”Janet?” she managed to whisper out of vocal chords not quite ready to speak yet.
“No…" replied the figure as it came into focus, "I am Fifth. Welcome to your new world.”
