AN2:no beta, all mistakes are my own
Sam sat at her desk, nestled in the corner of their home office. She was currently working on a new article for the next issue of Scientific American; one about the new holographic technology the Air Force had finally allowed the SGC to share with the rest of the scientific community. The blonde tossed a tennis ball back and forth between her hands as she contemplated her next paragraph. She was having trouble wording the article, it was hard to explain things she hadn’t invented herself, only toyed around with thanks to the Asgard. She whirled her chair away from the desk and was just about to rise from it, deciding a break was needed, when the beep sounded from her computer. She turned back around to find she had an instant message, but from whom she had no clue. Scooting the chair closer she peered at the name on the screen. “Who the heck is Sexy shooter fourteen and how did they get my screen name?” the blonde mumbled.
She quickly typed a question and sent it off. A reply came back, “You have your ways and I have mine.”
Sam asked a few more questions and received cryptic answers. She thought really hard for a few minutes and finally typed, “Cameron, if that’s you, I’m going to get you on Monday.”
“I’m not Cameron and if you’re lucky you can still get me on Monday,” was the answer to her statement.
“I’m closing this window now. I don’t know who you are and don’t know how you got my name but I’m finished playing games,” Sam typed.
A quick response of, “Easy now, I’ll stop being cryptic. It’s Olivia Benson.”
“Olivia?” the blonde said in amazement then typed. “Do I even want to know how you found my screen name?”
“Probably not; so how have you been?” the brunette typed.
The two women spent the next half hour catching up with each other. It had been almost two years since their first meeting during Sam and Janet’s vacation turned mission in New York. Finally the conversation got back around to one of the first statements Olivia made. “What did you mean by if I was lucky I could see you on Monday,” Sam typed.
“Oh yeah, I almost forgot the reason I tracked you down. Alex’s parents have a cabin in Aspen and we are headed out that way for a little vacation. We were wondering if you and Janet would like to join us for a couple of days,” Olivia typed.
Sam thought for a few minutes and then typed back, “I’ll have to check our schedules but I think we can join the two of you.”
Olivia typed, “Let us know and we’ll send the plane for you.”
“Another one of the perks of dating a Cabot?” Sam typed.
“Oh yeah, perks abound, well I need to finish packing. Give us a call when you two want to come,” typed the detective.
“Will do, tell Alex I said hello,” Sam typed and Olivia said goodbye and signed off.
The blonde leaned back in her chair and smiled. She’d been thinking about taking some time off and this was perfect. She stood up from the desk and walked towards the door. As she walked into the hallway she called out, “Hey, Janet! Want to go on a trip?”
