chionofidelio...wanting Sina and Chion to meet Einstein..for those of you who don't now him...he's Sam's cat in my stories and the critters are something
sinadino came up with....so Enjoy our madness..lol...I go back to working on fics with people now.
The couple lay on the couch watching a recent movie rental, the smaller of the two leaning back against the couch arm and her larger partner lay with her body sandwiched against the back of couch and the smaller woman, her head in lying in her partner’s lap. Curled up behind the taller woman’s bent knees was a small grey cat, which occasionally let out a soft meow.
Janet peeked over behind Sam, “What’s up with Einstein?”
Sam chuckled, “He’s dreaming…ignore him.” she told the doctor.
Another meow was heard and Janet gave the cat an odd look, “If you say so,” she remarked and focused on the movie again.
Looking over her shoulder Sam watched as Einstein twitched in his sleep, letting out another meow; ’Sometimes I wonder what you dream about you little rascal,’ she thought and then turned to watch the movie.

A thick mist swirls around me as I pad my way along a dirt path, suddenly the ground beneath me changes to pavement and the mist begins to clear. Twitching my ears I can pick up the sounds of an urban environment, car horns and engines rumbling greet me as the last of the mist disappears and I find myself in an alleyway.
‘Why did I dream this up?’ is my first thought as I leap onto a nearby dumpster for a better view of my surroundings, ’I don’t like this…no more pepperoni before bedtime from now on…no matter how tasty it is.’
As I sit on the dumpster my nose twitches as I catch the scent of fur somewhere very close to me, with a twitch of my tail I jump down to investigate letting my nose lead me to the source. Creeping softly towards a metal garbage can I see a large furry tail sticking out from behind and my ears pick up the sound of soft whimpers along with mumbled words. Growing closer I reach a paw out to tap the tail; it moves away from me rather quickly to be replaced by a face with a long snout and pricked up ears, surrounded by blonde fur similar to that which graces my human’s head.
“Go away!” the creature says to me and I say creature because I have never seen anything like it before.
Before I can reply another face appears from behind the creature, this one is white and has a sleek look to it, “Yes…go away!” it tells me.
Sitting back on my haunches I let my tail curl around my feet and reply, ”You seem to need assistance,” I say to them.
“We’re fine…go away,” the yellow creature tells me.
“Maybe it can help, Sina,” the white creature says to its friend.
“It’s a cat…cats chase animals like us Chion,” the one named Sina says to the other one.
“I’ll have you know I have never chased another creature,“ I say to them, “well birds maybe…but they don’t count, evil little things…always swooping down on you when you’re just exploring the yard,” I add quickly trying to reassure them.
They both give me a strange look but move out from behind the garbage can slowly until they sit before me. This is when I notice they are wearing small vests, quite like the one I found in my exploration of the bedroom closet one afternoon, “I’ve seen a vest like that before,” I tell them.
This grabs their attention and their ears perk up, “Really?” they say at the same time.
“Yes…my human has one like it,” I tell them, “Oh how rude of me…my name is Einstein,” I add with a nod of my head to them.
“This is Sina and my name is Chion,” the white creature tells me, “Do you know your way around the city?”
“I’m sorry but I’m new to this city myself…in fact I have no idea how I got here; last thing I remember was curling up on the couch to sleep as my humans watched a movie,” I tell them, “for all I know you both are just figments of my imagination.”
I watch as they whisper something to each other, my ears twitch trying to pick up the whispered words but it is in a language I am unfamiliar with. While waiting for them to finish their conversation I begin grooming my whiskers, I find it a nice way to pass the time as they seem to be arguing about something.
Finally they look to me and the one named Chion speaks again, “Well since you don’t know the city I guess we’ll just have to figure out the way to Auntie M’s work ourselves. Would you like to come with us?”
“I’m sure it would be quite the adventure but I fear my time here is up,” I tell them, for I have spotted the mist moving into the alleyway.
“Well maybe we’ll see you again someday,” Chion says to me.
“Yes…you don’t seem so bad…even for a cat,” Sina adds.
“Thank you,” I reply, “good luck with your search.”
Standing up and turning to walk towards the thickening mists I pause and look back, “Goodbye.”
They wave paw-like hands at me as I walk away and soon I find myself back on the dirt path, mist swirls around me then I wake.
***********************
“Meow,” the grey cat mutters.
“No…it’s bedtime in the garage for you,” Sam said as she lifted the cat from the couch.
Walking down the hallway she opens the door leading to the garage and deposits the grey cat on a soft pet bed, near a small heater. Checking to make sure the temperature setting is not to high she scratches his ears, “Sorry boy…but until Jan can get her pills refilled on Monday it’s the garage for you for the next couple of nights, the only reason you were allowed on the couch was because she found an extra one in her purse.”
“Meow,” the cat answers her, rubbing his head along her hand and with a final scratch to his neck she leaves the garage, turning the light off as she closes the door.
Kneading the soft bed, Einstein turned around a few times and then curled up in a ball with his tail covering his nose…his little cat brain trying to figure out if the dream he’d had in the living room about the two strange creatures was real or just the pepperoni talking.
