Janet’s gift would be easy to buy; in fact, she knew just what to get the doctor.
Jack…she thought for a moment; something dealing with fishing or maybe a new hat she pondered.
Jonas…he was fascinated by all things Earth, maybe some books or DVDs from the History channel would be best for the young scientist.
Jacob…tough one…it would definitely be something he missed from being away from Earth, maybe a care package of all his favorite things; along with something thrown in for Selmak.
Sam sighed, four down…three to go.

They lay on a blanket in the back yard, gazing at the star-filled sky. Janet would point to a star and Sam would rattle off the name; then would supply her own term for it as well.
“I call that one Fred,” the blonde said giggling.
Janet joined in the giggle and then pointed to a pair of twinkling specks, “And those two?”
Sam rattled off the designation numbers and then said, “I call that one Janet and the other is Sam.”
Janet looked to where her partner’s finger pointed, the ‘Janet’ star shown with a faint red light while the ‘Sam’ star gave off a yellowish glow.
The doctor sat up, looking down at the woman next to her she asked, “Why?”
Sam looked up, a smile on her face, “Because wherever I am I can look up and see us together; makes being separated from you not so bad,” she replied.
That comment earned her a kiss from the doctor and then Janet stood up, tugging on Sam’s hand for her to rise too. As Janet led her inside Sam asked, “Where are we going?”
“I have a heavenly body to worship,“ was the reply from her partner.

Sam sat in the cockpit, gazing into the vastness of space. After rewiring the systems, Jack thought it appropriate she take it for a test spin. Punching buttons and then gripping the steering controls, she banked the glider until the Earth appeared on her left.
The comm beeped, “Carter here.”
“How’s it handling?” O’Neill asked.
”Like a dream Sir,” she replied.
“Twenty more minutes then bring it home,” he told her.
“Yes Sir…Carter out,” she answered.
Sitting there for a few minutes, letting the ship drift Sam grinned; she had twenty minutes to see what this baby could really do.

“What’s the purpose of this game again?” she asked the blonde seated next to her.
“To see how many different shots you can take before you puke,” grinned Sam.
Her teammate gave her an odd look, “You humans have very strange concepts of fun.”
Vala picked up the first glass and downed it, making a face, “What was that?”
“Ahh…that’s a Boilermaker,” Sam then went down the line naming them; “Sex on the Beach, Buttery Nipple, Screwdriver, Screaming Orgasm…”
Vala stopped her, ”Do I detect a theme here?”
Sam grinned, “Maybe…but we’ll have to see how the game goes first.”
Vala gave her an ‘oh really’ look and downed another shot.
Janet walked up to lean next to her partner, “What are you two up to?” she asked seeing the glasses lined up before the two women.
“I think she’s trying to get me drunk?” remarked Vala, taking another shot.
Sam slid a glass over to Janet, “Drink,” she said grinning.
Janet gave her a funny look but Sam just nudged her and winked, “Trust me,” she whispered.
Janet eyed the two grinning woman and then said, “What the hell,” and downed the shot; this could get interesting she thought.
