Well I thought Replicarter had killed off the goldfish but apparently not…heh
Without further adieu, I give you the Adventures of Terline and Minnie: Two Goldfish in Love…
Hope this makes someones day a little lighter! Enjoy!
Our adventure begins in the spacious corridors of the local Super Wal-Mart…little do they know two unsuspecting goldfish are about to get the ride of a lifetime…
“Hi…can you help me with some fish?” the young woman asked a sales clerk.
“Sure which ones do you want?” the woman asked.
“Ummm…that black and gold one going crazy in that tank and that pale gold one hovering in the corner of that tank,” the young woman said pointing out the chosen fish.
The sales clerk readied a plastic bag and took up a net, reaching into the first tank she cornered the black and gold hued goldfish after a few minutes of frantic chasing with the net. Depositing the fish in the bag, she then used the net and scooped up the pale goldfish with no fuss at all. Tying the bag with a knot, she handed them over to the young woman.
“There you go… you need any supplies for them?” she asked.
“No thanks, I have all the stuff I need at home. Thank you,” the young woman replied, as she placed the bag in her shopping cart and wheeled it away.
Meanwhile in the plastic bag…
“Omygosh….where are we…what just happened!” the black and gold hued goldfish franticly blurted out as she swam in tight circles trying to escape the bag.
“Would you calm down!” the pale goldfish yelled at spastic fish.
“Calm down! Calm Down! One second I’m swimming around the tank nibbling up food from the bottom then this huge green thing starts chasing me and next thing I know I’m in a small bag…with a complete stranger,” the black and gold hued fish babbled out as she continued to bump into the sides of the bag.
“Well you still need to calm down or else you’re going to use up all of our air with your frantic swimming,” the pale goldfish said.
This caused the black and gold hued fish to come to a dead stop, hovering she faced the other fish, “Use up the air!?”
“Well it got you to stop didn’t it?” the pale goldfish replied sarcastically.
“That was so not nice,” commented the other fish.
Just then they felt the sensation of motion come to a stop, then the bag lifted up and then flattened somewhat as they were lain on a conveyor.
“Oh no…the space just got smaller! We’re gonna suffocate!” the black and gold hued fish said as she became frantic once more.
“Would you just wait a minute, it will go back to normal,” the pale goldfish said as she floated calmly.
Sure enough, the bag soon returned to its normal shape as it came to rest in a shopping bag and the sensation of movement resumed as the young woman walked out of the store.
“Whoa! What’s happening now?” the black and gold hued fish remarked as she tried to swim with the motion.
“It’s called walking…it’s how the two-legs move…we swim, they walk. It’s not a very smooth method of movement I admit, but it works for them,” the pale fish explained.
Soon they came to a stop as the young woman entered her vehicle and placed the bag containing the fish in the seat next to her, then the fish began to experience motion again, this time it was a little bit smoother but still caused the bag to slosh back and forth.
“Okay…since you seem to have an answer for everything…what’s happening now? The black and gold fish asked her companion.
“We’re in a car…it’s how they travel when not walking,” the pale goldfish replied.
“How do you know all this?” asked the black and gold fish.
“Oh that’s easy…I could see the TVs from my tank, I taught myself to lip read, I learned all kinds of things just floating in my corner and watching the images,” the pale goldfish answered smugly.
“Hmmm…really? Very interesting,” the black and gold fish said as she turned away from her companion, “Smartass,” she said under her breath.
“Hey that was uncalled for! We may need my skills, you never know.” the pale gold fish replied to the comment.
The other fish remained silent, ignoring her companion, as they continued to their destination. Realizing any more attempts at conversation were futile, the pale goldfish kept to herself on the opposite side of the bag.
Soon the movement stopped and they experienced the sensation of walking again, then they were lain down once more with the bag flattening out around them.
“Well…I guess this is where we find out what’s going to happen to us.” the black and gold hued goldfish remarked.
“Oh…you’re speaking to me now huh?” the pale goldfish commented.
“No…just making a general observation,” the black and gold fish snapped back.
Soon the bag rose up from its flattened position and was held in the air at eye level with the young woman, she spoke a few words and pointed at each fish, pushing in the sides of the bag and nudging each one separately. Then lowering the bag, she placed it in a fish tank.
“Hey! Look! I can see through the bag! Is that a new tank?” the black and gold fish said as she swam back and forth excitedly.
The pale goldfish refused to answer and just floated in the bag, swishing her tail occasionally. The black and gold hued fish swam around her.
“Hey I’m sorry. It looks like we’re stuck together, what do you say…truce?” she asked the pale goldfish.
The pale goldfish moved her fins turning to face the other fish, “Okay truce,” she agreed, “So…do you want to know what she was saying when she poked the bag?”
Before the other fish could answer, the bag rose and the young woman began untying the knot. The next thing the fish knew they poured out in a rush of water entering their new home.
The black and gold hued fish darted about, all excited with her new surroundings, while the pale goldfish just swam slowly around checking things out. Soon the excited fish came to a stop next to the pale goldfish.
“So what did she say?” she asked.
“She said…Welcome to your new home and when she poked you, she called you Minnie and then when she poked me she said Terline.” the pale goldfish answered.
“So we’re Minnie and Terline huh? Cool!” Minnie said as she swam away to explore the corners of the tank.
Terline gave her fins a waggle in what could only be a fish shrug, “This is going to be very interesting experience,” and swam off to check out the rest of the tank.
Stay tuned for more of the continuing adventures of Terline and Minnie…two goldfish in love (they just don’t know it yet…he he)
