While Janet argued with the stubborn airman, the replicator waited for her in the shower room. Standing in the center of the room, she began to review the events leading up to now.
Successful in her plan for gaining entry to the SGC, she was now at a loss as to how her initial plan would work. She first surmised that she would just take what she needed to create a replicator form of the doctor; but now, having actually met the woman from Carter’s memories she began to think another route would be easier. Perhaps she could play on the doctor’s sympathy. Janet was already showing that she trusted her, just because Sam had. Maybe the doctor would understand her feelings for the need to have someone to share in her existence, someone to love as she loved Sam.
She also assumed since she could not detect the presence of Fifth and her other brethren that the changes Sam and herself made to the disruptor worked. She was truly alone in this galaxy now; yes, there were other groups of replicators in the universe but she really had no urge to join them. She truly wished to stay apart from them, except for her chosen companion; if her plan succeeded then this would happen.
Hearing footsteps behind her, she turned to face Janet, catching the doctor as she tucked a handgun into the side pocket of her scrub top. Raising an eyebrow at the weapon she commented, “That will not be necessary.”
“I know but if they say something to Teal’c about not being allowed in here at least I can tell him I was armed while alone with you,” Janet said with a shrug of her shoulders.
Seeing that the replicator was making no moves to undress Janet soon realized maybe water wasn’t something she could handle well, “I forgot about you being a machine when I led you here. Is it possible for you to immerse yourself in water?” Janet asked.
“Yes…by all appearances I am just as human as one of you; water has no detrimental effect on me. In fact I am looking forward to experiencing this custom, several of Carter’s memories involved pleasing experiences with showers,” the replicator said with tilt of her head and a small grin at the doctor.
Janet ducked her head; clearing her throat, she felt her face growing red with a blush. If memory served her correctly, she enjoyed quite a few intimate moments with Sam while sharing a shower. Regaining her composure Janet gathered the necessary supplies and explained their uses to the replicator. She let the double use some of her things; it would just be to strange having her smell like Sam along with looking like her.
The replicator began removing her clothing, Janet sat on one of the benches, watching the double strip, ‘Hmm…I would have thought her clothing was a part of her. Jeez Janet turn around and give her some privacy,’ she admonished herself; turning around she faced the opposite wall.
Clearing her throat Janet decided to cover her awkwardness with some small talk, “You wear actual clothing?” she asked, fidgeting with a towel.
The replicator removed her pants, “Yes…even though I am capable of creating any type of clothing using my chips, I prefer to wear real fabric. It makes me feel more human,” she replied.
Now nude the double walked into the closest shower stall, turning on the water she found a temperature range she found pleasing. She stood under the cascade of water, allowing it to wash the traces of blood that soaked through her clothing. Turning to gather the cleaning supplies, she saw that Janet still was facing away from her.
Deciding she did not like the quiet she asked, “Will Sam make a full recovery?”
Janet turned around; facing the shower, she discovered the replicator had no problem with modesty since she failed to close the curtain. Janet saw enough in that look to notice that the double really was accurate, from the curve of her breast to the line of muscle across her stomach on down to the slim waist and long muscled legs. ‘Damn…she even has that smattering of freckles across her upper chest,’ thought Janet as she averted her gaze.
Janet remembered the question, “Umm…yes she should be fine. Sam’s a very healthy person, she should bounce back from this in no time,” she answered.
Turning around to wash the shampoo from her hair the replicator smiled. Maybe there would be a way to take advantage of the doctor’s curiosity. She would definitely have to think of more ways to bolster this fascination. Finishing rinsing off she turned off the water, exiting the shower she walked over to stand behind the doctor who was facing the wall again. “I have completed my cleansing,” she stated.
This startled Janet who turned around only to discover she was now at eye level with the double’s chest. ‘Oh god…she has that little mole on her ribcage too,’ she thought.
Turning away from her impromptu view, she picked up the towel lying beside her and passed it to the double, “Here’s a towel; you get dried off and dressed; I’ll just be over here by the door waiting on you,” Janet squeaked out.
Rising from the bench the doctor walked over to stand with her back against the wall, trying not to watch as the replicator dried and dressed. Thudding her head against the wall Janet tried to regain her composure, ‘Dammit…she is not Sam, she is not Sam. Would you try to get a hold of the lizard part of your brain,’ she thought, ‘Samantha Carter you’d better heal fast; I don’t know how much of this I can handle.’
The replicator soon finished dressing, walking over to stand next to the doctor who stood with her eyes closed muttering to herself. “I am ready Janet; are we now leaving to check on Sam’s condition?” the replicator asked.
Janet jumped at the sound of the double’s voice, “Oh…yes we can do that now. Could you do me a favor though; try to make some noise when you walk. This being startled thing is getting old,” she said with a small grin.
“Very well…I shall attempt to produce more sound when approaching you if you wish,” the replicator replied, returning the grin.
“Okay…let’s go check on Sam now,” Janet said to her, as they walked out of the shower room and down the corridor followed by the two SFs.
