miseradreamer who asked for Sam/Vala and a compromising position or something to that effect...this is what I came up with.
AN2:no beta, all mistakes are my own
Sam set the ladder up underneath the ceiling panel she needed to move. One of her many gadgets kept frying the wiring in her overhead lighting and instead of getting the base engineers to fix it she planned to solve the problem herself. Grabbing the equipment she needed the blonde began climbing up the ladder. She had taken two steps up when she paused due to Cam running into her lab.
“Sam, have you seen….” the question trailed off as he noticed her position. “Oh, I’m sorry. Do you need some help?” he asked.
“Nope, I can handle it,” she told him and kept moving up the ladder. “What did you need?” she asked upon reaching the final rung and setting down her tools.
“Oh, I was wondering if you’d seen Teal’c. The big guy wanted to watch some football with me and the game is on now. Here let me keep that stable while you work,” he said and moved to hold onto the ladder.
“I’m fine, Cam,” Sam said and lifted her hands over her head to move the ceiling tile.
“Nonsense, Sam, it’s no problem,” the man said as he stepped towards the ladder. Unfortunately he didn’t see the tool box and tripped over it towards the ladder. Righting himself before he fell further, Cam reached for the ladder, causing it to bobble.
With her hands above her head and full of ceiling tile Sam couldn’t keep her balance when the ladder bobbled. Her foot slipped off one of the rungs and she felt herself falling backwards. Closing her eyes she waited for the inevitable landing and then pain from it. But, it never came, instead she found herself caught by two strong arms and held close.
Breathing heavily the blonde slowly opened her eyes to find Cam grinning down at her. “Thanks for dropping in,” he joked.
She closed her eyes again and tried to slow her breathing from the rush of adrenaline from the fright. When she opened her eyes again she found Cam’s face less than an inch from hers’.
“You can put me down, Cam,” she said to him.
“Sam, I…” his words trailed off as his face grew closer and closer until finally he was kissing her.
Sam pushed against his chest, separating her lips from his. “Put me down, Cam,” she said in a forceful tone.
As he slowly lowered her, Sam heard thudding footfalls as someone ran towards her lab. It could only be one person she thought and tried move away from Cam before they showed up. But, she was too late; looking over Cam’s shoulder she saw Vala standing in the doorway with a confused look on her face.
“Sam, I wanted to ask you…oh, I’m sorry. I’ll come back later,” the dark haired alien said and turned around quickly, leaving the doorway.
“Damn it,” Sam muttered.
“Sam, I’m so sorry about that. I don’t know what came over me,” Cam said apologetically.
Backing away from the man she nodded her head. “It’s okay, but I have to go after her,” she told him.
Shrugging his shoulders Cam nodded. “Okay, I guess I’ll go find Teal’c now,” he said and then asked. “Are we just going to forget about this?”
“Yes, it never happened,” Sam told him as she moved towards the door.
Cam watched her walk away and ran a hand over his face. “I have got to find a girlfriend, soon,” he muttered and left the lab to find Teal’c.

Sam strode down the hall, her long legs taking her towards the only place she knew Vala would be after seeing something like that. She stopped in the doorway of the lab Daniel used as his office. Sure enough there was Vala sitting on a stool, fidgeting with one of the archeologist’s many artifacts he left scattered on the table. The dark haired woman had a sullen look on her face and Sam watched her wipe away an escaping tear. The blonde took a deep breath and cleared her throat, causing Vala to look up.
“Umm, hi,” Sam said with a little wave.
“Hello,” Vala mumbled and looked back at the object in her hands.
Sam walked into the lab and stood opposite of Vala, she picked up a stone tablet from the table, glanced at it then set it back down. Both women were quiet for what seemed like an eternity when Vala finally spoke up, “Is this were you come tell me it’s over?” she asked in a soft voice.
“No!” Sam blurted out and then said in a calmer voice, “No, it’s not what you think. Cam got a little carried away.”
“So, he kissed you, not the other way round?” Vala asked. When Sam nodded, the dark haired alien perked up and said, “Was he good?”
Sam made a face and shook her head. “He needs to work on his technique,” she said and then grinned. The blonde moved around the table to stand beside the other woman. “But he’ll need to find someone else to practice on. I have no intentions of giving him any lessons, my dear,” she added and took Vala’s hand in her own.
With a tilt of her head, Vala smiled up at her lover and said, “How about you and I go practice a few things?” She tugged Sam towards her until the blonde stood between her legs and wrapped an arm around her waist.
Sam grinned down at Vala and replied, “You know what they say…practice makes perfect.”
“Oh I think we’re already perfect. I just want to fool around with you,” Vala remarked with a sexy smirk.
Sam laughed loudly and pulled the woman up from the stool until they stood close together; she wrapped arms around Vala’s neck and rested her forehead against her lover’s. “There is no way that I would be so stupid to leave you for someone else. You’ve stolen my heart, you little thief,” Sam said softly.
Vala smiled warmly and placed a kiss on the blonde’s lips. The two shared a languid kiss for several seconds until Sam pulled away. “I think we need to move this to your quarters or better yet, my house,” she said.
“Hmm, your house sounds perfect,” Vala purred.
Sam chuckled and backed away from Vala, tugging the woman after her. They were halfway to the door when Daniel walked in. “Oh, hello you two,” he said.
Both Sam and Vala smiled at him then breezed out the door. “Okay, maybe that should have been goodbye,” he mumbled, shaking his head as he walked over to the table to make sure everything was as he left it.
