Title: A Conversation Between Two Muses
Author: elfcat255
Pairing: Sam-muse & Gabrielle-muse
Rating:G
Spoilers: umm..no
AN: from prompt by [livejournal.com profile] replicarter22 Sam/Gabby to take place after Janet's death, and after Xena's death. ...I think I came up with something..might not be them bitching about it but they talk..eh..I need sleep bleh

The bard walked into the main room shared by all the muses (even though it was really a part of Sam and Janet’s living space they let everyone hang out in it if they wanted) she saw Sam sitting at the table with a frown on her face as she stared at a thin stack of paper.

“Hello Sam,” she said walking up and sitting down next to the woman, “What’s that?”

Sam continued to stare at the papers then snapped out of it to answer, “Oh hello Gabrielle…its nothing, just utter nonsense,” she muttered.

“If it’s nothing why do you have that look on your face then?” the bard asked.

Sam let out a heavy sigh, “It’s an episode script…the one where they killed Janet,” she said softly.

“Ahh…I forgot they did that to you as well,“ Gabrielle remarked as she reached into her handy scroll bag and pulled out a script of her own laying the rolled up paper on the table next to the other.

“That’s yours huh?” Sam asked with a nod towards the paper.

“Yes…I don’t know why I keep it; why do you keep that one?” she asked the woman.

“Helps me to remember what I lost at one time and to remind me what idiots writers can be at times,“ Sam grumbled then added quickly, “not all writers…no offence to you, I like your scrolls.”

Gabrielle smiled at her, “Yes, script writers can be idiots but you have to look at it this way…if they didn’t do these stupid things,“ she said waving a hand over the two scripts, “then the fans wouldn’t get angry and write their own stories, after all, that’s the reason we have our partners again.”

“You have a point there I do believe but why do you really keep yours?” Sam asked pushing the point, she knew the bard had to have a reason to keep such a traumatic memory around.

Gabrielle thought for a moment and then gave her a crooked grin, “I use it to remind Xena…it makes her feel guilty for leaving me alone,” she admitted.

“Blackmail…interesting,” mused Sam, “I can’t do that, in fact I don’t even want to keep this anymore,” she added and picking up the script began ripping it into little pieces.

“Did that make you feel better?” the bard asked.

“Little bit but I know what will help me even more,” Sam replied then with a grin added, “Janet is taking a nap, I think I’ll join her…thanks Gabrielle.”

“No problem…it’s the least I could do since you share your space with us and put up with Xena’s fits,” the bard said with a smile and then she watched as Sam rose from the chair to make her way over to a door.

With a little wave to the bard Sam opened the door then entered, closing it behind her. Gabrielle shook her head laughing softly, she picked up the rolled up script and placed it back in her bag; rising from her chair she strolled back to hers’ and Xena’s section of the domain.
