My brother and prison.....
Gonna put this behind cut..read if you want
Ok..my little brother has been locked up for the last 10 years. All because of some stupid shit he did when he was 21,I won't go into it here. Anyway..I talk to him once a week and go visit every 6 months(mainly because he's 6 hours away and I hate to drive long distances by myself..he understands)..back to the rant...we talked tonight..caught him up on movie news and talked about books etc etc, he tells me they have raised prices in the prison canteen. See you can send money to them so they can buy things they need,ya know stuff like shampoo,socks,soft drinks,ramen noodles..stuff we take for granted. Anyway...they didn't tell them before they put in their orders..so he will run out of money before it's time we send him more($50 every two weeks) so long story short we will have to send him more money next time because it know costs him $38 instead of $25 for the usual things he gets.
This got us to talking about him working,I thought they were suppose to pay them for the jobs they did. He told me they used to get paid(50 cents an hour),but now they take time off of your sentence in relation to how many hours a month they work. I was like ok..so you get out sooner..whoopie! Then we got on the subject of fan fic..I send him short stories every now and then..hehe a little femslash is good for the soul(and other things..hey he's my brother gotta keep him sane)...now he tells me I can't send him more than 2 pages of material from the internet..well this sucks! I can't find decent stories 2 pages long,only PWP's *EG*,he suggested I do a multiple envelope bombardment...lol...10 page story broken down into 2 pages per envelope..he has no restriction on how much mail he gets...told him I'd work on it!...lol..
OK..I feel better now that I could rant about this conversation...really need to try and sleep now...I hate insomnia..haven't been to sleep since I woke up yesterday at 1pm...argh!!!!!!! I really need to stay awake though..Stargate comes on at 3:30 am on a local station and its one I don't have taped(RepliCarter!!!!)...somebody just shoot me now...please!
